Astoic, born Arun Venkatesh Ganapathy, is an L.A.-based composer and music producer with the sole intent of challenging genres and pushing sonic boundaries. Arun is known for blending orchestral instruments with polished sound design and stimulating rhythm.
Arun began his journey at Rutgers University, where he studied both Finance and Music. Drawn to the business side of the industry, he interned at the Finance Department of RCA Records and later in Artist & Repertoire at Epic Records. He then moved to New York City where he attended Dubspot NYC and studied music production, sound design and engineering. While in New York, he spent his time songwriting and producing for artists of all kinds.
To further his knowledge, Arun attended UCLA's Film Scoring program, which also led to an internship at Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions. There, he provided orchestration and technical assistance to composer Andrew Kawczynski and served as a composer assistant to Anže Rozman of Bleeding Fingers Music.
